Weightloss Reminders

“You didn't gain all your weight in one day; you won't lose it in one day. Be patient with yourself.” - Jenna Wolfe

Here at Aesthetically Renewed, helping people look and feel their best is one of our goals. During your consult, you were given information regarding the weightloss treatment and how to ensure you get the best results. I am here to remind you of the information so that you are able to get the best results. The fitness community can be very confusing and I want to make things clear and concise for you.

Here are 8 reminders from your weightloss consult!

1. Remember how your shots work

Compounded semiglutide and tirzepatide delay gastric emptying. When the stomach takes longer to empty itself of food, it sends signal of “fullness” to the brain. This can result in powerful appetite suppression. The increase in insulin production helps with the breakdown, utilization & storage of the food you eat. This means patients can benefit from medically assisted weight loss without any need for invasive surgeries or harsh stimulants. It also helps lead to healthier blood sugar levels, which can help patients feel more energetic throughout their day. Stabilized and controlled blood sugar levels can also help improve overall health.

2. The importance of Lipotropic-Plus

Lipotropic injections offer an excellent tool to aid in weight loss while also improving energy. The unique combination of B vitamins and amino acids improve liver detoxification, break down and release of stored fat, and enhanced metabolism. They can also improve mood and mental clarity, liver and gallbladder function, as well aid the preservation of lean body tissue (muscle) and enhance the absorption of essential nutrients. It will boost weight loss, energy, and more.

3. How to weigh

You should try to weigh on the same day of each week, at the same time of day, wearing the same thing. Clothing and shoes can add to the scale, so it is preferred that you weigh naked. Ensuring that we have an accurate weight on you is essential for dosing your medications. While any scale will do, our favorite scale that we recommend is by Renpho. This scale pairs with an app on your cellphone and keeps track of your weight each time you weigh. It also has features like calculating your BMI, body fat percentage, and bone mass. This scale can be purchased on amazon! https://a.co/d/g7cPwXl

4. Eat your protein

Protein is very important in satiety after a meal. During your weightloss journey, it can also prevent you from losing too much muscle mass. You should aim for at least 1 gram of protein per pound of your goal weight. For example, if you weigh 176 pounds and your goal weight is 150 pounds, your protein intake per day should be 150 grams. Protein shakes, protein bars, almonds, chicken, fish, cottage cheese, greek yogurt, eggs, and other meats are some examples of high protein foods.

5. Limit your alcohol consumption

Alcohol slows down your metabolism. You can exercise, eat right and not lose any weight if you are consuming too much alcohol. Drinking alcohol on social occasions is okay, but drinking every day or even every other day will halt your weightloss journey. Drinking alcohol while taking weightloss medications can increase the side effects.

6. Manage your side effects

Don't let side effects stop you from achieving your weightloss goals. The most frequent side effects are heartburn, nausea, and constipation.

To help with heartburn, medications like Rolaids, Tums, Nexium, Prilosec, and Prevacid can be purchased at your local pharmacy without a prescription.

Mylanta and Maalox can help with gas and bloating.

Nausea can typically be alleviated by ginger candy, ginger-ale pregnancy pops, peppermint tea, and aromatherapy. Over-the-counter medications like Dramamine-N, Meclizine, and Emetrol may be used as second defense if natural remedies don't help. If nausea persist, contact us.

Constipation is not going less each week, it is straining when attempting to go. Prevention such as fiber gummies or a stool softener may be beneficial. Medications such as Miralax, Senokot, and Colace can help alleviate constipation. Prunes, drinking plenty of water, and exercise may also help prevent constipation.

7. Exercise

Exercise is an important part in assisting in weightloss and keeping your energy levels up. You should aim for 30-45 minutes of exercise 3-4 days a week. This can include cardio, weightlifting, pilates, and yoga. Nike has a FREE app with FREE exercises. These exercise ranges from beginner to advanced and can be filtered into "no equipment" or "full gym".

8. Manage your stress

If you are under a lot of stress, your weight may increase or you may not lose as much as you have in the previous month. Avoid overeating or divulging in foods that aren't the best for you. Find a way to manage your stress such a meditation, taking a drive, exercise, or even getting away for a day or two.

9. Healthy fats

Avocados are high in omega-3 fatty acids. Avocado oil is the best oil to use; you can cook at a high heat with this oil and it won’t burn the food. Uncured bacon grease, walnuts, macadamia nuts, and cashews are all good, healthy fats. Whole eggs, chia seeds, dark chocolate, and fatty fish are also good examples of healthy fats.
